Family Portrait Session in Venice

Venice is a wonderful city, much visited by tourists from all over the world. Many times we come to Venice to celebrate special occasions, wedding anniversaries, a birthday or just to visit it. A birthday was the occasion that brought this american family to this beautiful city. In fact, before returning to the United States, this beautiful family decided to have a different memory, a photo shoot of portraits with their children. What better way to remember this moment forever? A photograph has the power to revive so many shared emotions forever. Here are some of the photos that I did, and of course, could not miss a beautiful gondola ride, Venice admired by its calm canals at sunset is wonderful !

WINTER FAMILY PORTRAITS IN VENICE

Making portraits to someone who is a photographer too is never easy but it often happens like in this case with this beautiful American family, came from New York to Venice for a Christmas Holiday, to spend some fantastic hours in this wonderful city. Since their last photos were of many years before, when the guys were still children, they took advantage to make new family portraits. The mother is a New York photographer, here you can look at her website Shawn Kahal Photography. A very nice and smiling family, not afraid of the low temperature of december (perhaps because in New York they have much colder winter). We walked around Venice, descovering wonderful corners, even if in this city each corner is incredibile! They left me a beautiful memory and they are waiting for me in New York to photograph another of the most beautiful cities in the world!

When I was contacted by these 3 wonderful families who asked me about portraits in Venice with my reportage style, I was very happy because I usually have couple or few person to shoot.. so to make portrait of 8 people at the same time was a little challenge! 🙂 and this is also the beautiful thing about my work, always different, with people, stories, situations and places that are always different, and this is very exciting for me! I made these portraits in April, an unusually cold day for Italy and Venice, but we had sun and a beautiful light … The occasion for these family portraits was the 85 birthday of grandfather / dad. I am very pleased to have met these wonderful families, gentle people, always with the smile, friendly and wonderful people all! 🙂 We have also been to St. George Island to eat an ice cream and to take a coffee, thus avoiding the crowded places of the ever wonderful but chaotic Venice. Venice is a wonderful city and Eva Matheus and Vic really enjoyed the city, they walked through the calli, the narrow Venetian streets, they visited the fish market and they finally ate a genuine artisanal italian ice-cream.
